Three questions for Markus Burmeister, Head of Printing and Inserting Centre, German Pension Insurance Association (DRV) in Berlin
What do you particularly like about the Kern 3200?
The Kern 3200 offers all the functions we need: it is reliable and future-proof and therefore a secure investment. We also wanted another multi-format backup.
What are the key benefits and how do employees handle the Kern 3200?
Clearly the Kern-typical linear design and technical reliability, as well as the modular structure and the associated expandability. For experienced Kern operators (previously using the Kern 3500), operation is very simple and familiar, as there are a number of analogies in terms of design and sequence. The structure of the machine is modular and logical. For new Kern operators, the basic operation can be rated as user-friendly. The running machine is easy to operate and it handles well.
How quickly was the system ready for use after installation?
After briefing and training the employees, it was up and running almost immediately. As we had an unexpectedly high dispatch volume at the time of installation, including additional night shifts, we simply took the Kern 3200 into production and it was up and running. The design of the machine is modular, logical and therefore user-friendly. The decision in favour of the Kern 3200 was the right one and we would probably make the same decision again.
