mailFactory is a suite of modular software components in the realm of ADF (Automated Document Factory) solutions. Kern utilises these components to implement comprehensive ADF installations and to integrate systems according to customer specifications. All of the components are based on a common structure that makes it possible to network document inserting systems and to store data in a central database.

In combination with document inserting systems, the components of mailFactory cover all of the levels of mail production. The Mailroom Management Layer monitors and controls jobs and production. The Device Management Layer monitors the systems and tracks documents. The Machine Operation Layer tends to the physical monitoring and control of the document insertion process.
