Cuts, folds, inserts continuous forms and single pages and seals envelopes at a high output rate, all in one single operation.

With this system, the printout can be processed at high speed for mailing to the right customer.

Reading computer printed marks with optical mark reading heads the Kern 658 Inserting System can:

  • a) select multiple page groups
  • b) divert documents for special handling,
  • c) selective call of enclosures,
  • d) divert envelopes for special handling and zip code grouping.

The sheets are cut. To select multiple page packing, the Kern cutters are equipped with optical mark reading or bar code reading. The cut documents are then folded and enveloped.

Pages not required to be mailed can be processed by the Kern 658 Mailing System. An optical mark reader registers the marks an the documents and controls a divertion flap accordingly. The diverted documents are deviated into a tray for special handling.

Multiple documents can be collated for individual customers. The optical mark reader on the Kern cutter also controls this operation

A A3 document to be inserted into a C6/5 envelope is no problem for the Kern 658 Inserting System! The integrated folding system allows for combinations of cross and parallel folds.

Enclosures are nested within the fold of the main document. Thus all enclosures are removed with the main document when the envelope is opened. No valuable information is left in the envelope to be discarded. If a special group of customers receives an enclosure, the EDP printout controls the Kern 658 Inserting System accordingly.

Patented metal pockets surround the documents during the inserting cycle. The documents are completely protected.

Guarantee of the correct contents in each envelope. Security controls monitor the whole inserting process. The final check controls the sealed envelope for correct contents.

Group filled envelopes according to zip code. The EDP printout must be sorted according to zip code and a mark printed an cut sheets or continuous forms. Faster dispatch and lower mail charges.

Filled envelopes can be deviated into a divert module for special handling. This operation is also controlled by optical mark reading.
